Bolgatanga, Ghana – The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Hon. Isaac Adongo, has expressed his heartfelt sympathy to traders and residents affected by the recent fire outbreaks at Bolgatanga Station and the Tindonmolgo community.
In a statement issued following the incidents, the MP described the destruction caused by the fires as a tragic loss that has left many traders counting their losses and disrupted the livelihoods of numerous families.
“The widespread destruction and profound loss resulting from these incidents represent a painful tragedy that has cast a pall of deep sorrow over our constituency and tragically disrupted the livelihoods of countless hardworking traders and their families,” the statement said.
Hon. Adongo assured the affected victims that they are not alone during this difficult period, stating that his thoughts and prayers remain with the families, traders, and everyone impacted by the disaster.
The lawmaker disclosed that he has already engaged the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to assess the extent of the damage and identify immediate support measures for the victims.
As part of efforts to strengthen emergency response and prevent future disasters, Hon. Adongo announced that he has ordered an electric vehicle (EV)-powered Fire Thunder for the Bolgatanga Municipal Command of the Ghana National Fire Service. According to him, the equipment is intended to enhance firefighting operations while reducing the operational costs associated with fuel consumption.
He expressed optimism that the intervention would improve the Fire Service’s capacity to respond swiftly to emergencies within the municipality.
Hon. Adongo concluded by calling on residents to remain united and supportive of one another as the affected communities recover from the devastating incidents.
“May we find solace, strength, and courage in our collective unity as we navigate and ultimately overcome this profound moment of grief together.”
