The former Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Nabdam Constituency, Denis Ontoyen Kolog, has officially stepped down from his position, citing the refusal of party leadership to address concerns he had raised.
In a resignation letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party and dated February 16, 2026, Mr. Kolog indicated that his decision took effect the following day, February 17, 2026.
“I, Denis Ontoyen Kolog, hereby tender my resignation as Constituency Chairman of Nabdam, effective 17th February, 2026,” portions of the letter stated.
While the brief letter expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, Mr. Kolog is understood to have stepped aside after growing frustration over what he described as the failure of top party executives to listen to his concerns regarding internal party matters.
He acknowledged the support he received during his tenure and expressed appreciation to both party members and constituents for the confidence reposed in him.
“I appreciate the opportunity to have served the party and the people of Nabdam in this role,” he noted.
Despite his resignation, Mr. Kolog pledged his continued commitment to the party, assuring that he would support his successor to ensure a smooth transition and sustained unity within the constituency.
“I am committed to supporting my successor. Please accept my resignation and ensure a smooth transition,” he added.
His resignation brings an end to his tenure as the NPP Constituency Chairman in Nabdam, creating a vacancy in the party’s local leadership. As of now, officials of the New Patriotic Party are yet to announce arrangements for the selection of a new constituency chairman.
