The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has secured the construction of two additional senior high schools for the Bolgatanga Municipality, in a move aimed at expanding access to secondary education and creating opportunities for the youth.
The development was disclosed by the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Communications Officer, Aboyom Job, during an interview on the BlueWaves Breakfast Show. According to him, the initiative forms part of the MP’s broader commitment to delivering on his mandate and improving the lives of constituents through strategic investments in education.
Aboyom Job revealed that one of the projects, the Sherigu Senior High School, is being fully championed and facilitated by the Member of Parliament. He noted that the project underscores Hon. Adongo’s dedication to addressing infrastructure deficits within the education sector in the municipality.
In addition, plans are underway for the establishment of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Senior High School at Tindonsobligo-Kalbeo. The proposed STEM institution is expected to strengthen science and technology education in the area and equip students with relevant skills for the modern job market.
When completed, the two new schools will complement the existing four senior high schools in the Bolgatanga Municipality, thereby easing congestion, improving access, and enhancing the overall quality of education delivery.
Touching on the MP’s performance, Aboyom Job emphasized that Hon. Adongo remains focused and unpressured, with a clear vision centered on job creation and youth empowerment. He added that the MP has been actively facilitating opportunities for young people, particularly through security service recruitments.
“Hon. Isaac Adongo is committed to delivering on his responsibilities. His focus is not only on infrastructure but also on creating sustainable employment avenues for the youth,” he stated.
The initiative has been widely welcomed as a significant step toward educational development in the municipality, with expectations that it will contribute to human capital development and long-term socio-economic growth in the Bolgatanga area.
