

Traditional authority and cultural unity were strongly displayed in Navrongo as prominent Akyem chiefs paid glowing tribute to the late Madam Elizabeth Assibi Akanluke, mother of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Lawyer Anatuh Seidu Bogobiri.
The burial service, held on Saturday, December 27, drew distinguished traditional rulers from the Akyem traditional area, underscoring the deep bonds of kinship, respect, and cultural solidarity that transcend regional boundaries.
Leading the traditional delegation was Mr. Stephen Bewong, Gbandaan of the Sakote Paramountcy, who also serves as Deputy Director for Management Information Systems (MIS) at the NHIS. The respected chief journeyed from the Eastern Region to honour the memory of the late matriarch and to support the bereaved family during their moment of grief.

The chiefs’ attendance highlighted the enduring role of traditional institutions in Ghanaian society, particularly during moments of loss, remembrance, and reflection.
Speaking at the funeral, Lawyer Anatuh Seidu Bogobiri paid emotional tribute to her late mother, describing her as a woman of strong moral values who instilled discipline, humility, generosity, patience, and tolerance in her children. She noted that these virtues continue to guide her both in public service and private life.
The bereaved family expressed heartfelt appreciation to the chiefs for honouring the late Madam Akanluke with their presence, describing it as a powerful symbol of respect, cultural pride, and solidarity.
