

Top leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday converged in Navrongo in the Upper East Region to mourn the passing of Madam Elizabeth Assibi Akanluke, mother of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Lawyer Anatuh Seidu Bogobiri.
The funeral was attended by the National Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, whose presence, alongside ministers, Members of Parliament, and party executives, underscored the party’s show of solidarity with one of its key public officials.

The strong political presence reflected the esteem in which the Deputy NHIS CEO is held, as well as the party’s commitment to standing with its members in times of personal loss.
In her tribute, Lawyer Anatuh Seidu Bogobiri described her late mother as the foundation of her life and career, crediting her upbringing for shaping her commitment to service, leadership, and love for humanity. She emphasized that respect for authority and compassion for all people were values deeply rooted in her by her mother.
The family expressed profound gratitude to the NDC leadership, government officials, and sympathizers for the overwhelming show of support, noting that the solidarity extended to them would forever be remembered.
The funeral ceremony brought together politics, tradition, and community, reflecting the unity and shared values that define Ghana’s public life.
