Accra, April 12, 2026 – Patrick Essien, Deputy Director of Mining at the Environmental Protection Authority, has called on grassroots supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain united and steadfast as early signs of economic recovery begin to surface.
According to Dr. Essien, the grassroots remain the backbone of the party, having played a pivotal role in returning the NDC to power through unwavering dedication, mobilization, and commitment at the community level.
He indicated that Ghana’s economy is gradually stabilising, pointing to declining inflation, improved economic growth, and more favorable financing conditions as encouraging indicators. These developments, he noted, are expected to ease pressure on households and create a more supportive environment for businesses.
Dr. Essien further highlighted the government’s “Big Push” initiative—an ambitious agenda focused on infrastructure development and job creation—as a critical driver of national transformation and long-term economic resilience.
“Transformation does not happen overnight, but the foundation is being laid,” he stated, emphasizing the need for patience and sustained support from party members.
He also commended Nana Ama Browne Klutse, Chief Executive Officer of the EPA, for her leadership, describing it as a source of inspiration and confidence within the institution and beyond.
Dr. Essien urged party faithful to remain committed and optimistic, expressing confidence that the current trajectory will ultimately translate into improved living standards and expanded opportunities for all Ghanaians.
