The Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central, Hon. Simon Aworigo, has joined the Country Director of Engage Now Africa and her team to cut sod for the construction of new educational infrastructure for the Technology Solution Centre Technical Institute in the Kassena-Nankana area.
The sod-cutting ceremony, held on Monday, October 12, 2026, marks another step towards improving infrastructure and learning conditions at the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution.
According to the MP, providing a conducive learning environment for students of the institution has been one of his key priorities. He said sustained engagements with Engage Now Africa and its partner, ASEA Advancing Learning Foundation, have resulted in support for the construction of critical infrastructure for the school.
The project is expected to be implemented in phases, with the first phase scheduled for completion within 10 months.
Project scope
The first phase of the intervention will include the construction of a storey classroom block, an administration block, and a modern kitchen with washroom facilities.
Mr. Aworigo said the project would significantly improve the learning environment for students and enhance their ability to acquire practical and technical skills.
He encouraged students of the institution to take advantage of the improved facilities by remaining disciplined and committed to their studies.
“The ultimate goal is to equip them with the knowledge, technical expertise and practical skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive world of work,” he said.
200 mono desks donated

As part of efforts to address the immediate furniture needs of the institution, the MP also presented 200 mono desks and chairs to the school following a request from its management.
The donation is expected to help improve classroom conditions and support effective teaching and learning.
Mr. Aworigo expressed appreciation to the Country Director of Engage Now Africa and her team for their support, with particular recognition for Polycarp for his role in following up on the initiative.
He also expressed gratitude to the Paramount Chief of the Navrongo Traditional Area, Pe Denis Asagore II, for attending the sod-cutting ceremony and supporting the educational intervention.
The MP reaffirmed his commitment to mobilising resources and building partnerships to complement government efforts towards improving educational infrastructure and the quality of teaching and learning in the Navrongo Central Constituency.
He said the intervention forms part of broader efforts to create better opportunities for young people and contribute to the development of skilled human resources for the future.
