The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Nabdam District, Mr. Francis Tobig, has assured residents that government is taking concrete steps to improve the deplorable road network in the district, with rehabilitation works expected to commence soon.
Speaking on the BlueWaves Breakfast Show on BlueWaves Radio 93.7FM, Mr. Tobig acknowledged the growing concerns and frustrations of residents over the poor condition of roads across the district. He, however, appealed for calm and patience, emphasizing that the road infrastructure deficit in Nabdam remains a top priority for the government.
According to the DCE, the government is committed to improving road connectivity to enhance transportation, facilitate economic activities, and improve access to essential services within the district.
His assurance comes at a time when public concern over the deteriorating state of roads in Nabdam has intensified. Residents, commercial drivers, transport operators, farmers, and youth groups have repeatedly appealed to government to intervene, citing the negative impact of the poor road network on trade, agriculture, education, healthcare delivery, and the overall socio-economic development of the district.
Mr. Tobig expressed optimism that the planned road rehabilitation projects would significantly improve movement within the district and contribute to the overall development agenda of the government.
Beyond road infrastructure, the DCE also outlined several government initiatives currently being implemented to accelerate the development of Nabdam. He noted that interventions in key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, water, sanitation, and local economic development are progressing steadily, with the aim of transforming Nabdam into one of the most developed districts in the Upper East Region.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to equitable development and assured residents that the district would continue to receive the necessary attention to address its infrastructure and development needs.
Mr. Tobig further called on residents to support the government’s development agenda by cooperating with the district assembly and exercising patience as ongoing and planned projects are rolled out to improve livelihoods across the district.
