Aspirant cites experience, loyalty and 2028 “Comeback Agenda” as key pillars of his bid
David Awine Asanga has formally declared his intention to contest the position of Constituency Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bongo Constituency.
In a letter dated 18th September 2026 and addressed to the Constituency Chairman, Asanga submitted his Declaration of Intent ahead of the upcoming constituency elections.
The aspirant outlined three strategic reasons for his candidacy.
First, he pointed to his proven experience between 2018 and 2022, during which he worked with grassroots structures, youth groups and community stakeholders in the Bongo Constituency. He said the period equipped him with practical knowledge in voter engagement, public messaging and stakeholder mobilisation at the constituency level.
Second, Asanga highlighted his loyalty, availability and strong grassroots connection. He described himself as a loyal and active member of the NDC who has maintained close ties with branch executives, polling station executives and ordinary party members across all zones of Bongo. His consistent presence and accessibility, he noted, have helped build trust and unity within the party’s base.
Third, he presented a strategic vision focused on the NDC’s “Victory 2028 Comeback Agenda.” Asanga said he would prioritise information dissemination through digital platforms, community sensitisation programmes and transparent engagement to help the party reclaim and secure victory in Bongo and beyond, in line with the national Comeback Agenda.
“I am committed to upholding the values of the NDC unity, development, truth, and service,” he stated in the letter. “I pledge to communicate the vision of the party effectively, to defend the good works of the NDC, and to promote unity among all constituents for a resounding victory for our party.”
Asanga concluded by humbly requesting the support and endorsement of the Constituency Executive Committee and all delegates of the Bongo Constituency as he seeks to serve in the role.
