The Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) has successfully held its 15th Ordinary Session of Congress at the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs in Bolgatanga on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
The congress, one of the most important events on the regional football calendar, brought together key stakeholders to review the past season, discuss challenges, and chart a fresh course for the upcoming 2025/26 football season. It also served as the region’s highest decision-making platform, where crucial strategies for the continuous growth of football were mapped out.
In attendance were UERFA Chairman Salifu Shaibu Zida, Executive Committee members, representatives from Division Two clubs, District Football Associations (DFAs), the Women’s League and Juvenile Committees, referees, coaches, retired players, media representatives, and several observers.
A special guest at the event was Mr. Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and a member of the GFA Executive Committee. He represented the President of the Ghana Football Association and delivered a goodwill message reaffirming the GFA’s unwavering support for regional football development.
Mr. Aboabire commended the UERFA for its achievements and urged members to step up efforts in securing more sponsorships, protecting the integrity of the game, and rekindling fan passion — what he called “winning the Number 4 back.”
