A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Patrick Ayaba, has called on the youth wing of the party to make unity, tolerance, and collective responsibility the foundation of their political activities, stressing that the strength and future success of the party depend largely on the ability of members to work together.
Mr. Ayaba made the call while speaking at the TESCON Freshers Orientation Programme held at the Bolgatanga Technical University, where he interacted with students and members of the party’s youth base.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ayaba emphasized that the NPP must avoid unnecessary internal disagreements and focus on building a united front capable of strengthening the party at all levels. He noted that political differences are normal within every democratic organisation, but such differences must be handled through dialogue, respect, and constructive engagement.
According to him, internal conflicts that do not contribute to the growth of the party only weaken the collective efforts of members and create unnecessary divisions.
“If we can sit down, come together and unite, and we have a leader who can bring people together, we will not engage in unnecessary fights. Fighting without purpose does not help the party. The best approach is to listen to all sides, discuss issues, and arrive at decisions that benefit everyone,” he stated.
The aspiring NPP Upper East Regional Chairman further explained that his call for unity is informed by his years of experience and interactions with party members at the grassroots level. He said his understanding of the concerns of ordinary party supporters places him in a better position to provide the leadership required to rebuild and strengthen the party in the region.
Mr. Ayaba maintained that his ambition to lead the party at the regional level is driven by a desire to serve, unite members, and create an environment where every party faithful feels valued and included.
He stressed that the NPP is built on the contributions and sacrifices of many individuals who have worked tirelessly over the years, and therefore, no member should be sidelined or made to feel excluded.
“We must remember where we started from. Many people have contributed to building this party, and everyone has a role to play. This is our party, and we must protect it through unity and commitment,” he added.
The NPP stalwart also encouraged the youth to take active roles in the affairs of the party, describing them as the future leaders and backbone of the organisation. He urged them to prioritize the collective interest of the party over personal ambitions.
Mr. Ayaba expressed confidence that with the right leadership, effective communication, and renewed commitment from members, the NPP in the Upper East Region can regain its strength and position itself for future political success.
He reiterated his readiness to provide what he described as unifying and inclusive leadership if given the mandate to serve as the next NPP Upper East Regional Chairman, promising to work with all stakeholders to promote peace, cohesion, and grassroots mobilisation within the party.
