Kotintaabig Chief Demands Development as NDC Leadership Tours Nabdam

The Chief of Kotintaabig, Naab Bileehsong La’anwont Namoog, has called on the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to deliver meaningful and visible development to the Nabdam District, citing the area’s long-standing loyalty to the party.

The appeal was made during a visit by the NDC’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, as part of his nationwide Thank You Tour aimed at engaging communities and expressing gratitude to supporters following the party’s return to power.

Addressing party leaders and supporters, the chief expressed concern over what he described as a gap between the constituency’s consistent electoral support and the level of development it has received over the years.

“Nabdam has supported the NDC for almost 26 years, but what we are getting is not what we are expecting,” Naab Bileehsong stated, drawing attention to growing frustrations within the community.

He called for urgent intervention across critical sectors, including road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, agriculture, and employment. According to him, the people of Nabdam expect tangible improvements in their living conditions as a reflection of their unwavering political support.

Despite his concerns, the chief expressed confidence in Mr. Nketia’s leadership, describing him as a committed grassroots politician capable of championing the needs of ordinary Ghanaians.

“I believe in Hon. Nketia to take this position. You are a grassroots leader. I admire you from afar,” he said.

Naab Bileehsong further noted that he had anticipated the Thank You Tour would be accompanied by concrete development commitments for the district, particularly in addressing stalled projects.

He cited the abandoned Agenda 111 hospital project as a major concern, indicating that it was a key campaign promise yet to be fulfilled.

“I am happy to announce that we have the Agenda 111 hospital, but it has been abandoned. It was one of the promises made during the campaign,” he lamented.

Highlighting the pressing healthcare challenges in the area, the chief stressed that access to quality medical services remains a major difficulty for residents, most of whom are farmers.

“Our people are mostly farmers, and when they fall sick, access to healthcare becomes a challenge. So we trust you, grassroots leader. The needs of our people are greater,” he added.

Mr. Nketia’s Thank You Tour forms part of the NDC’s broader efforts to reconnect with its support base, acknowledge the contributions of grassroots members, and assess the development needs of communities across the country.
