
The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has fulfilled his commitment to communities that participated in the recently concluded Ramadan Soccer Fiesta, reinforcing his support for youth development and community engagement through sports.
A total of 16 communities that took part in the tournament have each received an amount of GH¢1,000 as appearance fees, a gesture aimed at appreciating their participation and commitment throughout the competition. The initiative forms part of the MP’s broader effort to promote unity, discipline, and talent development among young people within the constituency.
In addition to the appearance fees, Hon. Adongo provided GH¢4,000 to cater for officiating officials, ensuring that referees and match coordinators were duly compensated for their roles in maintaining fairness and professionalism during the games.
To further motivate teams and reward excellence, jerseys were presented to the semi-finalist teams, while cash prizes were awarded to the top performers. The winners of the tournament received GH¢2,000, with the runners-up taking home GH¢1,000.
The Ramadan Soccer Fiesta, which has grown into a significant sporting event in the Bolgatanga Municipality, continues to serve as a platform for identifying and nurturing young football talents while fostering peaceful coexistence among communities, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
Hon. Adongo’s timely fulfillment of his pledge has been widely commended by community members and participants, many of whom described the support as both encouraging and impactful. Observers say such initiatives not only promote sports but also strengthen social cohesion and provide positive avenues for youth engagement.
