The Member of Parliament for Builsa South Constituency, Hon. Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has authorised the release of GH¢370,000.00 from his share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) to support the rehabilitation, reshaping and maintenance of severely deteriorated sections of selected roads and related infrastructure across the constituency.
The intervention is aimed at easing transportation challenges, improving mobility and supporting economic activity while the constituency continues to await broader interventions from the central government.
According to the Office of the Member of Parliament, the initiative follows concerns raised by residents, farmers, traders and transport operators over the deteriorating condition of several roads across Builsa South.
Dr. Apaak had earlier authorised GH¢50,000.00 for emergency works on portions of the Uwasi–Fumbisi Road and the Zamsa–Fumbisi Road in response to the urgent needs of communities along those routes.
Under the latest intervention, funds have been allocated to the following roads:

The Office of the MP says the interventions are expected to improve road accessibility, reduce transportation difficulties and associated costs, facilitate the movement of farm produce and goods, and enhance access to schools, healthcare facilities, markets and other essential services.
Dr. Apaak: “Good roads are essential for development”
Speaking on the intervention, Dr. Apaak said his decision was informed by firsthand observations and concerns raised by constituents during his recent engagements in the constituency.
“During my visit to the constituency, I saw firsthand the difficulties residents, farmers, and traders go through on these roads, and I listened carefully to their concerns. Good roads are essential for development. They connect our people to opportunities, markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.
“While major road projects remain the responsibility of central government agencies, I believe it is important to utilise available resources to address some of the immediate challenges facing our communities. These interventions demonstrate my commitment to improving accessibility and supporting the socio-economic development of Builsa South.”
The MP also indicated that he will continue to engage the Government, Ministry of Roads and Highways, Ghana Highway Authority, Department of Feeder Roads and other relevant stakeholders to secure comprehensive and sustainable road infrastructure projects for Builsa South.
Further road interventions
The Office of the MP said Dr. Apaak is also continuing to engage the contractor working on the Builsa South section of the Chuchuliga–Sandema–Wiaga–Fumbisi–Wiesi road to expedite work on the project.
The Doninga–Sandema Road, which is also reported to be in poor condition, is expected to receive attention soon, with a contractor expected to mobilise to site.
Dr. Apaak is further engaging the Minister for Roads and Highways on the need for the rehabilitation of feeder roads across Builsa South, the statement added.
The Office of the Member of Parliament expressed appreciation to traditional authorities, Assembly Members, community leaders, transport operators and residents for their continued support and cooperation in advancing the development agenda of the constituency.
It reaffirmed Dr. Apaak’s commitment to pursuing practical interventions aimed at improving road accessibility and supporting the livelihoods and socio-economic wellbeing of residents of Builsa South.
